The parent portal allows parents to "link" their children to their parent account and gather information from their teacher in real-time. There is also a mobile app that allows you to gather information right from your phone. This is a great tool to have as it is used district wide. In order to log in to the parent portal, you must create an account and will need you parent pin. You must contact your school to receive this information as this is highly sensitive.

How to Register as a Parent Volunteer
At HGE, we use Remind 101 to connect to parents as a school wide initiative. In fact, our Principal is the one who is in charge and sends out the messages. By enrolling in this FREE text-messaging service, you will receive updates on what is going on in the school and reminders of upcoming events or promotions.

Although we use Remind101 as a tool for the administration to contact parents (as a group) in real-time, each teacher has their individual form of connecting with parents. We've had 100% compliance with parents connecting in the classrooms and we hope to keep it up!

Xfinity is taking a number of steps to support our community and to ensure you remain connected to important communication services. To find out more click here. For those who cannot afford Internet access, Xfinity WIFI hotspots across the county have been opened for anyone who needs WIFI. They are free for all, including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser. A map of available Xfinity hotspots is available at https://wifi.xfinity.com/. Comcast’s Internet Essentials is free to new customers. Through the program, new customers will receive 60 days of complimentary Internet Essentials service, which is normally available to all qualified low-income households for $9.95/month.

Additionally, for all new and existing Internet Essentials customers, the speed of the program’s Internet service was increased to 25 Mbps downstream and 3 Mbps upstream. That increase will go into effect for no additional fee and it will become the new base speed for the program going forward. For more information, click here. AT&T offers internet access for qualifying limited-income households at $10 a month through their Access from AT&T program. They are also offering new Access from AT&T customers two months of free service. To learn more, click here.
